Entirely crafted in porcelain and meticulously hand-painted.
Covered box in semi-soft paste porcelain created by Didier Gardillou, naturalistically modelled in the form of a rose in full bloom. The composition is formed by a succession of broad petals modelled in relief and unfolding in a corolla around the central body of the box. The petals, with softly undulating edges, are glazed in white and delicately shaded with gradations of carmine pink and raspberry tones, creating a remarkable impression of depth and freshness.
The lid, perfectly integrated into the floral composition, blends seamlessly into the heart of the flower and is surmounted by a delicate finial in the form of a blooming rosebud, highlighted with yellow-orange and soft green tones.
While retaining its function as a box, the object also asserts itself as a true decorative sculpture, paying homage to the naturalistic forms of the 18th century while embracing a playful contemporary approach. As is characteristic of the artist's work, the boundary between functional object and work of art is deliberately blurred.
