"FLOWERS" CERAMIC BOX SURMOUNTED BY A LID BY ISABELLE FUSTINONI

Contemporary sculptural box composed of an ovoid ceramic body resting on a circular turned-wood pedestal base.

The lid, conceived as an autonomous sculpture, is crowned by a stylised floral element with finely textured, radiating petals. This organic form evokes both a fossilised flower and a fragment of coral, delicately embellished with gilt beads that accentuate the heart of the composition while reinforcing its precious and symbolic character. The ensemble is united by a slender gilt-brass stem and finely crafted brass elements, lending the work a graceful verticality and a subtle ritualistic presence.

Through the dialogue between natural materials—wood and mineral-like textures—and precious elements such as gilt brass and beads, this sculptural box occupies the boundary between functional object and contemporary sculpture. It evokes a modern-day relic, conceived for a contemporary cabinet of curiosities.

This unique work perfectly embodies Isabelle Fustinoni's artistic vision, in which the transformation of humble materials, the repetition of gesture, and the reinterpretation of archaic forms give rise to silent objects imbued with memory and open to multiple interpretations.
